{Collins} CW on the infamous KWM-2A

Hello Guys,

I picked up an interesting item in a junk box at Dayton this past year and
am just getting around to checking it out. I picked it up because it had
the "Collins" mic connector on it and the guy was asking .50 for everything
in the box and the cord with this connector was hanging out thus getting my
attention. The cord was connected to a "SBE Codaptor". I went ahead, bought
it, and carried it around for 327Miles! HI HI

Now I just hooked this thing up, started tinkering with it, and I believe
that I have figured out this devices intended function. There is a
connection for a Straight key and a speaker for a sidetone. There is a
relay inside the unit that activates upon depressing the keyer. I think
what happens is that a tone is produced that may be transmitted whilst the
radio is in the USB position. Any thought here? Will this get around the
offset for CW of the KWM series? What this thing made for?
