{Collins} Collins Ceramic Trimmers

Greetings to the list:

A friend of mine used to maintain Collins gear for the Air Force,
including lots of S-line. His solution to the stuck ceramic trimmer
problem is to heat the top screw with a soldering iron briefly. The
differential expansion rates will usually "pop" the rotating part free.
Use at your own risk.

BTW, if the trimmer is peaking at one end of its rotation or the other,
then I agree with the other gentleman who wrote in to the effect the
corresponding slug was misadjusted. If you can rotate the trimmer and see
a change in the circuit, then it is functional.

   Just my $.02 worth.
