The MCN  [ much vaunted ] were not used till later in life ..  late 60's early 70's    early sets will not have them ..  mac/mc  w5mc

Once again, the CCA crowd is a great help.  I'll pull the thing out and start looking at crystals.  The IF cans and C106 do not appear to have dates.  It's a winged emblem, and ex-military, I am sure, so this may get close.  I still haven't found the MCN, but I'll look more closely.  It still needs more cleaning and I will use this search as an excuse. 

 

Many thanks to all.  After a rough couple of weeks at the office, the gracious help from all here somewhat restores my faith in mankind, at least the part that loves boatanchors....
