CVLT's New Year's revue to feature songs you're not sick of

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH - When the cast of Forgotten Broadway takes to the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre stage this New Year's Eve, Broadway-loving audiences seeking old chestnuts had best turn to their Christmas leftovers. This musical revue fundraiser, the third of its kind at CVLT, sets out on a mission to avoid songs audiences might have heard recently. The sources certainly aren't obscure; the evening will include songs from well-known musicals by luminaries such as Rogers & Hammerstein, Harnick & Bock, Stephen Schwartz, Cole Porter and others. Rather, the songs have been selected to make the audience think "Oh, I forgot about that song being in that show!"

Forgotten Broadway, with musical direction and accompaniment by Robert Day (North Coast Men's Chorus) and a small combo, features an ensemble of seven performers. Some are veteran CVLT performers and others are new to the stage. The returning ensemble features siblings Andrew and Greta Rothman and their mother Paula Pike, along with Eric Alan (recently seen as 'Gaston' in Near West's Beauty & The Beast). Also returning to CVLT's stage is rising star Talia Cosentino, who was an audience favorite in CVLT's Not Yet! revue on New Year's Eve 2005.  This year audiences will also be treated to the sweet tones of tenor Brian Altman, and the soprano fireworks of Notre Dame Cathedral Latin choral teacher Ryann Angelotti.  Choreographer Pamela LaForce lends her talents to the mix, creating an evening of lighthearted fun that will please musical theater afficionados and newcomers alike.

The event begins at 8 PM, and is followed by a reception featuring hors d'oeuvres and champagne punch. Audience members should have plenty of time to reach their midnight destinations.  Tickets are $30, and proceeds go to operating funds for Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, which was voted 'Best Community Theatre' by Cleveland Magazine Readers, and 'Best Theatre Group' in the Fox 8 HotList this year.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.CVLT.org, or by calling the Box Office at 440-247-8955 between 1 and 6 PM, Monday through Saturday. CVLT is located at 40 River Street in historic Chagrin Falls Village.
