MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP DEC. 28 AT THE TURNING POINTE

(Canal Fulton, Ohio ) -- Michigan University student and former Ohio Youth Ballet member Laura Irion will teach a musical theatre workshop Dec. 28 at The Turning Pointe School of Dance, 2387 Locust St. S. Canal Fulton.

The workshop will be divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. The beginner level is ages 6-10 and will be offered 1-2:30 p.m.; the intermediate level is for ages 10-14 and will be offered 3-4:30 p.m. The advanced class is for ages 13 and older and will be offered 10 a.m. to noon. The beginner and intermediate classes are $15 and the advanced class is $20.

Laura Irion was accepted into NYU Cap 21 and the Boston Conservatory. She chose Michigan University and is a freshman musical theatre major there. The Jackson High School graduate is the recipient of numerous awards including Voices of Canton’s High School Student Voice Scholarship three years in a row and the 2003 National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Dance Award. She also has performed roles with professional companies such as the role of “Clara” with the Radio City Rockettes in Cleveland.
