Cleveland Public Library will present Professor Daniel Goldmark of Case Western Reserve University discussing "Sing Me a Love Song: Creating Popular Songs on Tin Pan Alley." The FREE and open to the public program will be held Tuesday, January 22 at Noon, in the Treasure Room on the Third Floor of the Main Library Building, 325 Superior Avenue.
Goldmark studies American popular music, film, cartoon music, and the history of the music industry. He published Tunes for Toons: Music and the Hollywood Cartoon and co-edited The Cartoon Music Book, and Beyond the Soundtrack: Representing Music in Cinema. He spent several years working in the animation and music industries including serving as research editor for Rhino Records in Los Angeles. He has a Ph.D. in Musicology from University of California, Los Angeles.
