Part Time Dance Department Coordinator/Manager on Duty
Solon Center for the Arts is accepting applications for the Dance Department Coordinator position starting in June of 2008.
Qualified Applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Performance or have earned a Dance Education degree from an accredited institution. Graduate experience a plus. Responsibilities include coordinating the Dance Department instructors, Dance Department classes as well as some Administrative/Managerial duties.This position involves daytime, evenings and some weekend hours starting in June of 2008. This position is slotted at Grade C on the Wage Scale which has a beginning hourly range of $13.0106. The successful candidate will be slotted according their experience. In addition, rates for teaching hours are established at a higher level of compensation. Applicants with previous Arts Administration experience preferred.
Candidates for the coordinator position will be the driving force behind all dance classes and workshops. Applicants must be professional, display leadership qualities and be able to manage and coordinate the dance faculty and students. Excellent problem solving and organizational skills are a must. Candidates must be attentive to detail and have artistic capabilities as well as business experience. The Dance Department Coordinator will also be responsible for assisting with day to day operations at the Center. The candidate will assist other staff members, be responsible for opening/closing the building and operate as manager on duty. Applicants must be able to work in a team environment.
