What do museums have in common with theaters?

More than you might think.

Led by Margaret Piatt, a museum and theatre professional with thirty Years experience, she will explore the up and down trends through various stages of museum theatre.  Margaret will examine how the two fields are similar, the advantages of using theatre based programming in museums, and how museums can be satisfying places for theatre artists to work.

In addition to her museum career, Margaret has directed for regional theatres in New England and served as the artistic director for a drama based living history festival in Dayton.  She is a past officer in the International Museum Theatre Alliance and currently works as a part time director of theatre at Urbana University, an arts administrator for Mad River Theater Works, and the president of Piatt Castles, a family history museum.

The workshop will include storytelling, discussion, and group break-out activities.
