Seeking 4 actors: two male, two female: (three of the actors play two roles
each)
Actor 1:
ROSE -- 23 year-old fragile, bird-like young woman with
osteogenesis imperfects (brittle bone disease); gentle and honest but
independent and self-reliant
CASSIE AT 16--sexually adventurous teen who just wants to have a good time
without the restrictions of guilt or shame, but is uncomfortable when someone
takes the game too seriously
Actor 2:
MARC--early 20s, seems like a rude, over-confident jerk as a
means of self-defense
DOUGIE AT 16--naive male in love for the first time, somewhat possessive, has
accepted the traditional malarkey about what love is supposed to be like in
part due to his inexperience
Actor 3:
LARRY--late 50s-early 60s, long divorced but still not happy
about it, somewhat of a misogynist, gruff, foul-mouthed and somewhat brutish,
but has a soft streak and a genuine affection and concern for his son
Actor 4:
CASS - early 40s, married with children, hard life
made harder by her own mistakes, which has led to a cautious, no-nonsense
approach when dealing with people
SHERYL--mother, well-meaning but at her wit's end with her husband and
debilitated son, both of whom make her feel trapped and in need of escape
Please come prepared to read from the script. A prepared monologue is strongly encouraged, but optional.
