GERSHWIN BY GEORGE has the largest selection of Gershwin’s greatest hits, PLUS the talents of all his friends to boot!  Set in 1936 as a radio broadcast from Gershwin’s home, the audience is involved in the singing and the dancing in this two act musical.  The performance site is a Grand Ballroom, restored to its 1926 grandeur, in the Metropolitan Centre at 601 Cleveland Avenue N. W. in Canton, 44702.  (6 blocks north and 1 block west of Canton’s square)

 

Featuring pianist STEVE DALLAS as Gershwin is a natural since Steve’s signature piece is Rhapsody in Blue, which is played in its entirety in the production.  Singers include STAN KRAWSON (Don Wilson), ROSE FORRESTER ( Ethel Merman), MENA GLENN (Anne Wiggins Brown), TODD COOPER ( Al Jolson), TOM BAUMGARDNER ( Paul “Pops” Whiteman) SHAUN REITMAN (Fred Astaire), LAURIE SOVICH (Adele Astaire) JOSEPH LEDFORD (Jimmy Durante).
