TURNING POINTE OFFERS BALLROOM WORKSHOP SERIES

CANAL FULTON – Two ballroom classes – one for beginners and one for intermediate students – will be offered as part of a workshop series in March and April at The Turning Pointe School of Dance, 2387 Locust St. S.

The seven-week ballroom dance workshop series is offered Thursdays, March 13 through April 27. No partner is needed for either of the classes.

Joseph Rittenhouse, a part-time faculty member at the University of Akron who teaches ballroom and Latin dance courses, will teach two classes for the workshop: Absolute Beginner Ballroom and Latin, and Intermediate Rumba. The ballroom and Latin class is 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays and the Rumba class is 7:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays.

For the past 18 years, Rittenhouse has made ballroom and Latin dance his profession. He was certified at a Fred Astaire studio in Columbus and continued to train with top competitive professionals. He has managed three studios in Orlando and he has competed as a professional couple at the World Salsa Quarterfinals in 2001. The workshop series at The Turning Pointe is perfect for people without any dance experience or as a refresher course.

Cost is $85 for individual and $155 for couple.
