Barefoot in the Park

Auditions will be held:

Sunday, March 2^nd @ 1:00

Tuesday, March 4^th @ 7:00

At the GLTG Annex

106 Water Street in Chardon -- diagonally across the street from the Geauga Theater 

(Call backs ,if necessary, will be Wednesday, March 5^th @ 7:00)

 

Performance dates: May 2-4, 9-11, 16-18

 

Auditioners will read from the script, (no monologues needed).  Resumes and headshots are helpful, but not required. Please contact the GLTG business office @ 440 285-7701 and let us know what night you plan on auditioning.

 

Roles

 

Corie Bratter: 

Wild, free spirited new bride (age 21 – 32)

 

Paul Bratter:  

Strait-laced lawyer & new husband (age 24 - 35)

 

Ethyl Banks (Corie's Mom)

Pretty, but letting herself go as she ages (age 45 – 58)

       

Telephone Man

Out of shape man, who has seen it all before (age 35 - 55)

 

Delivery Man

Cameo (any age)

 

Victor Velasco (The newlywed's neighbor)

A flirt and very colorful character (age 45 – 65)

 

The Plot

Young New Yorkers Corie and Paul Bratter are fresh off their whirlwind honeymoon, as they begin their married life together in a tiny fifth floor walk-up.  He is a conservative young attorney, she a free-spirited romantic.  Throw in her meddling mother, their eccentric neighbor and a hilarious sequence of misunderstandings that test the boundaries of their love, you've got the perfect recipe for laughter.
