The haunting strains of gypsy music will fill the
air when The Cleveland Orchestra Chamber Chorus presents Brahms’
Zigeunerlieder or Gypsy Songs in a special
performance at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights on March 30
at 3:00 p.m. The Chamber Chorus, comprised of singers drawn from
the 140-voice Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, is directed by Robert Porco, the
Cleveland Orchestra’s Director of Choruses and performs regularly with the
Cleveland Orchestra and on its own. The program also features Poulenc’s Motets
for a Time of Penitence, Duruflé’s Four Motets on Gregorian Themes and
several American folksongs arranged by Aaron Copland. Partially underwritten by The Church of the Saviour
Foundation, tickets are only $10 ($5/youth) and are available at the door. Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road
in Cleveland Heights, one block north of Fairmount Blvd. The church is
