Don’t Forget: OHIO YOUTH BALLET SILENT AUCTION THIS FRIDAY

More than 50 items from area businesses including restaurant gift certificates, fitness club memberships and baskets overflowing with all sorts of exciting items have been donated for the Ohio Youth Ballet’s “Dancing with the Stars” Silent Auction.

Tickets are available now for the event which begins at 6 p.m. April 4 at Glenmoor Country Club, 4191 Glenmoor Road, N.W. Canton.

Bonnie’s Engravers Gallery is the major sponsor of the event, along with Sirpilla RV and Camping World and The Alibi.

Both the Youth Ballet and Dance Team divisions of the Ohio Youth Ballet will perform, as well as students from The Turning Pointe School of Dance. A fashion show, fine dining and music are all part of the evening. Ballroom dance instructor Joseph Rittenhouse will provide a demonstration and invite guests to learn some ballroom patterns. Rittenhouse has trained with top competitive professionals, has managed three studios in Orlando, competed at the World Salsa Quarterfinals in 2001, and is a part-time faculty member teaching ballroom and Latin dance at the University of Akron.

“This event will be full of excitement, entertainment, food, fashion, music, and dancing from the Ohio Youth Ballet, the OYB dance team, and special guests,” said Tiwatha Murdock, chairperson of the event. “We sincerely hope that you will join us.”

Funds raised go toward costumes, studio rental, choreography, promotions, rehearsals and other areas.

Companies and individuals can still make donations of auction items, or become sponsors to help make the evening even more of a success.

Tickets are $75; and $125 per couple. Dinner is included. For more information, call 330-854-1417. Ticket request forms are available at www.ohioyouthballet.com.
