Scores, Youth Pricing, and Costumed Trekkers Highlight the
Celebration Chagrin
Light Orchestra presents the last concert of its 2007-2008 season, Star Light: A
Space Odyssey, on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 8
p.m, at the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre. In keeping in the spirit of the
space theme, the concert will feature
popular science fiction scores
including: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes
Back; E.T.: The
Extra-Terrestrial; a Star Trek
medley; and Close Encounters of the Third
Kind, as well as classical works including Holst (The Planets) Mars and Strauss Fanfare from Also Sprach Zarathustra made
famous in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Chagrin Light will also honor Arthur C. Clarke, 20th century
visionary, at the concert. Clarke, who died a few weeks ago, was known for his
work in scientific discovery and science fiction--as well as for penning 2001: A Space
Odyssey. Adding to the festivities will be costumed
"Trekkers" from the USS Challenger Chapter of the International Federation
of Trekkers, an organization founded in Chagrin Light is offering youth/student concert
tickets for $15.
Adult tickets for the concert only are $25. A patron reception, beginning at 7
p.m., includes spirits and appetizers courtesy of Gamekeeper's Taverne,
signature cosmopolitan cocktails featured in the Star Trek franchise, and concert ticket, and is available
