The Illusion Factory Summer Theater Camp 2008

 

 

The Illusion Factory, Akron’s professional theater for young audiences, announces its Summer Theater Camp to be held Monday – Friday, June 16-27, 2008. Located at the Northwest Family Recreation Center, 1730 Shatto Ave. Akron, OH 44313 (North of W Market St CVS). Children ages 5-15 may enroll, and the play, Charlotte’s Web, will be performed on the final day. Enrollment is limited. Times and fees are:

 Ages 5-7                  9-11AM                      $160

The young actors develop imagination through creative exercises, games, and rehearsals of the play.

 Ages 8-12                9AM-3PM                  $350

Students improve acting and theatrical skills through theater games, improvisation, movement and vocal work, as well as rehearsals and tech work for the play.

 Ages12-15               9AM-3PM                  $350   

Teens work on detailed direction and character development for the play, as well as work on set, props, costumes, and sound.

 

• All fees include enrollment, T-shirt, script, supplies, and costume fabric.
• A $25 discount will be honored for each additional child from the same family.
• Some partial scholarships are available through Akron Community Foundation’s Millennium Fund for Children.
• Classes follow Ohio Academic Content Standards for Drama/Theatre
• Ages 8 and older will pack a lunch each day. Ages 5-7 will pack a snack each day.
