OHIO YOUTH BALLET OFFERS TWO AUDITION DATES

CANAL FULTON, Ohio – Dancers ages 8 through 20 from throughout Northeast Ohio will have the opportunity this spring to join the pre-professional Ohio Youth Ballet.

The company will have auditions for the youth ballet division and dance team division. As members of this truly unique non-profit organization, dancers not only perform in original performances, but share their talent and love for dance with the OYB’s active outreach program. In fulfilling the OYB’s mission of “Bringing Dance to the People,” dancers educate and entertain community members at nursing homes, libraries, schools, theatres and festivals.

Auditions are at 1 p.m. on April 20 and May 4 at The Turning Pointe School of Dance, 2387 Locust St. S., Canal Fulton, Ohio.  Dancers are asked to arrive at 12:30 p.m. Dancers are recommended to come dressed in proper attire with fee and registration form in hand.

OYB auditions are open to girls and boys ages 8-20. Detailed information plus registration forms are available at the dance studio. Call 330-854-1417, visit www.ohioyouthballet.com or e-mail ohioyouthballet@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Fee is $10 exact cash or check made payable to the OYB.

Students will train under and learn classical ballets and originally choreography from artistic directors Natalya Vyashenko-Connor and Desmond Beasley, as well as special guest choreographers.

Ohio Youth Ballet members have gone on to join professional companies, and the OYB has opened many other doors for students, as well. Dancers have won prestigious competitions; have received summer training scholarships with professional dance companies; and have received college scholarships in dance, musical theatre, and other fields. Others can be seen on Broadway and regional theatre, MTV videos and more.
