Andrew A. Venable, Jr., Director will retire after 24 years of employment at Cleveland Public Library, effective July 1, 2008. Venable states, “My 24- year journey at Cleveland Public Library, ‘The People’s University,’ has been filled with many special and historic moments that will be cherished forever. During my tenure, I have been privileged to have the support of the Board of Trustees, Library Staff (Ambassadors), Library Friends, Community Partners, and Cleveland Residents.”
Andrew A. Venable, Jr.’s numerous accomplishments include Cleveland Public Library receiving overwhelming support from Cleveland Voters for ISSUE 2 on May 6, 2003 (60%) and March 4, 2008 (65%), support that reflects
