Three legendary acts and the 50th Anniversary of "Hot Rod Lincoln"

ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL and
COMMANDER CODY

Friday, April 25 -- 8 PM

This show will commemorate the 50th. year anniversary of the release of the classic tune "Hot Rod Lincoln" written by legendary songwriter Charlie Ryan. Charlie's influence on the antique car era has been enormous and has resulted in his
being inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, Minnesota Rock & Country Hall of Fame and has a official "Charlie Ryan Day" honoring him in his home state of Washington. His drummer, Karl Bingle will be on hand to make a brief presentation and show a short documentary on Charlie's life and musical career to honor this event.

Both Commander Cody and Asleep At The Wheel have played this song since the early 70's, plus this will be a rare and unique show since the bands have not played together in over 20 years. This is a must see event! For more info go to www.hot-rod-lincoln.com

Over the course of the last 37 years, Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel have boldly defied the fickle lures of the mainstream -- and thrived -- by sticking to their noble cause of keeping that distinctly American of art forms, western swing, alive and kicking. Along the way, they've been awarded nine Grammys, entertained millions and won praise and admiration from the likes of Willie Nelson to Bob Dylan, George Strait to Van Morrison. Asleep at the Wheel has been called the “post-modern kings of western swing,” and given their storied history, it is a title that few would question.

Asleep at the Wheel is an American musical institution: a kinship of like-minded musicians (over 80 members to date) united under Benson's crusade to carry the torch of big band western swing music into the 21st century. Case and point is the latest lineup, which is not only spectacularly talented but also noticeably youthful. As Ray reflects, “It is amazing to me at this point in 2006 compared to 1970 when I started the band. My whole intent was to bring the music back to my generation. We’ve done what we set out to do and it’s just grown. Now, we have a whole new generation doing it, and we have a whole new band.”

Commander Cody
As always, the old Commander Cody himself is behind the piano, leading the musical mayhem and controlled chaos, and sporting his legendary antics and ability to spark up even the toughest crowds. Today the Commander Cody Band is closely knit with the legendary George Frayne a.k.a. "The Commander" (leader /keyboards/vocals), Steve Barbuto (drums/vocals), Rick Mullen (bass) and Mark Emerick on lead guitar and vocals. Frequent guest steel guitar appearances by Bobby Black, Tiny Olson, John Wingren and Don E. Curtis of Scotty's Music add to the fun. This new edition of the band harks back to the instrumental virtuosity and spontaneity of the original band, and the response from critics and crowds have been overwhelmingly positive.

CHAD & JEREMY

Sunday, April 27 -- 7:30 PM

Chad and Jeremy are a pop duo who rode the British Invasion wave to America in the mid-1960s. They recorded about 75 songs and had a string of hits and TV appearances from 1964-1966. They're best known for A Summer Song, (peak chart position #7), Yesterday's Gone (#23), and Distant Shores (#30). In 1967, although their hitmaking days were done, they began to create more serious, adventurous music that is extremely accomplished, and recognized by pop aficionados as a treasure today.

The pair reunited in 2003 and have been touring since.
