Cleveland Public Theatre seeks volunteers to help out as ushers and extra hands on deck for the closing week of In the Continuum, and for two upcoming productions: Two Plays By Gao Xingjian and Matt and Ben.
In the Continuum runs this Thursday through Saturday night at 8:00pm. Volunteer ushers are asked to arrive at 7:00pm each evening.
Two Plays by Gao Xingjian runs from May 22 – June 14th. Showtimes are Thurs, Fri, Sat at 8:00pm, Sundays at 3:00pm, and volunteer ushers are asked to arrive one hour before showtime!
Gao Xingjian is the 2000 winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. Born in China , he now lives in exile in France . Gao Xingjian's plays have been virtually un-produced in the United States due to their adventurous, non-narrative structure. CPT Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan directs The Other Shore and Holly Holsinger directs Between Life and Death. This is the kind of theatre you will only find at CPT!
Matt and Ben runs from May 29 – June 14. Showtimes are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm, Sundays at 3:00pm, plus a 10:00pm show on Saturday, June 7th.
Matt and Ben is the funny, scathing, delightfully venomous story of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck (played by two women!) who are struggling to write a screenplay in their rundown apartment in Boston in 1996. Much to their surprise and delight, the script for Good Will Hunting falls from the sky and into their laps. Matt and Ben was a hit at the New York International Fringe Festival and off-Broadway. Directed by Dan Kilbane, Matt and Ben features CPT favorite Beth Wood and newcomer to the CPT stage, Nicole Perrone.
