[NEohioPAL] "An Afternoon of Bassoon"--Cleveland Public Library, May 24



             Cleveland Public Library’s Fine Arts Department will present a FREE and open to the public recital of classical music written for bassoon and piano, “An Afternoon of Bassoon!” Saturday, May 24, 4:00 p.m., on the 2nd floor of the Main Library, 325 Superior Avenue. The bassoon is most familiar for its role as the grandfather in Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" and the opening solo in Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring."

            The performers include Fine Arts librarian, Michael Dalby and P.J. Woolston. They performed together in various orchestras in college. Anne Dalby will accompany them on the piano. The recital will feature works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Lars-Erik Larsson, and Johann Baptist Vanhal. For more information, call (216) 623-2848.
