Cathedral is pleased
to host the Chamber
Singers from
Pennsylvania’s Bloomsburg
University for a free
concert on Wednesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. at
Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights. The program
will feature English madrigals as well as selections from Brahms’
Liebeslieder Waltzes and Schubert’s Mass in
G. The Chamber Singers is a select vocal
group of 18 members performing a wide variety of music from classical repertoire
to selections from musicals. They have toured London, Amsterdam, Brussels,
Paris and Japan. While in Cleveland they will sing
for the Indians’ game on May 13. Conductor Dr. Wendy
Miller is a native of Cleveland who received her Bachelor's degree from
Bluffton College and earned her Masters and Doctorate from Indiana University in
Bloomington. An active soloist in eastern Pennsylvania she is also recognized as
a music historian who has researched and presented vocal recitals of
authentic Colonial and Civil War Music. Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road, in Cleveland Heights, one block north of Fairmount Blvd. The church is handicapped-accessible and has plenty of free parking.
