Zumba, founded by Miami-based dancer and choreographer Alberto 'Beto' Perez, is a fun, easy-to-follow cardiovascular and fitness program inspired by Latin dance and music. Zumba uses a variety of styles in its routines, which feature interval training sessions with fast and slow music rhythms are combined to tone and sculpt the body while burning fat. The name Zumba is Spanish slang meaning “to move fast and have fun.”

“We utilize the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning, and total body toning. It’s a way of mixing body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps,” says creator Beto Perez. “It’s fun and addictive.”

All ages, shapes, and body types are welcome, and no prior experience is necessary. Participants should arrive prepared to sweat. Please bring a towel, water bottle, sneakers and/or socks. While walk-ins are always welcome, calling ahead is recommended and appreciated. Anita can be reached by phone at (330)323-7090 or by email at anitapilates@xxxxxxx
