RE: preparator job description - routine maintenance of outdoorsculpture

Karen,

I have no job description on electronic medium. I can send you a hard copy of our Preparator Job Description if you would like.

We have an outdoor sculpture garden and one of our Preparators cleans the sculptures one day every week. He cleans the sculptures with a very mild detergent provided by our Conservation Department and works with our Sculpture Conservator doing waxing and other Conservation-type activities. There are nine buildings to our Museum and we have sculptures outside three of them. It usually takes all day to do the cleaning.

Subject: preparator job description - routine maintenance of outdoorsculpture

Dear list members,

I am in need of a preparator job description and I was thinking this would be good information for everyone in PACIN to see.

If you’re willing, please post to the list so we can see the language used~

Also, do your preps do routine maintenance (washing, waxing etc.) on outdoor sculptures in your collection?  If so, please send me an email with your contact information and # of sculptures you maintenance off the list!   I am trying to put together a list of contacts for this specific work, and I would be happy to share my final list if other people could benefit.
