PACIN  ListServ (et al),

We at Artemis have gathered and gleaned from several different sources.

MoMA, Tate, NGA Wash.D.C. and Merv Richard's (from NGA) "Art in Transit".

We have developed a 4-tiered crating spec sheet, from Full Travel crates down to

Sotheby's style 1-way crates.

I believe, as I'm sure other good quality Fine Art Service companies do, that it is

crucially important that the FAS company themselves have a list of crating specifications

that they adhere to so that there is a consistency of quality and a level

of client familiarity and congruity that is universally understood and accepted.

 

We are located in Dallas , but provide crating for several museums around the country,

as I'm sure many of you are familiar with our crates.

Every registrar we provide a crating estimate for, we also send these specs as

an attachment. We have found the registrars to be very appreciative of this,

and they are equally pleased when they see the level of crating was as advertised.

 

Unfortunately, I cannot include the 3 page Word doc.(169K) because Pacin

webmaster says that file is too big. I will try to send them one at a time,

or you can email me direct and I will be glad to send them to you.
