Concerns about crating survey!

Dear PACIN members,

Over the past 2 weeks 89 organizations have participated in the crating survey. Many interesting opinions and ideas have been posted. I have been told that some organizations/companies may be hesitant to participate, fearing the survey asks for proprietary information. The following describes the types of questions in the survey.

There are two questions on the first page of the survey that are mandatory; they are denoted by an asterisk. One question asks how crating needs are met by an organization--internal, external, both, or neither.  The other asks the participant to categorize themselves under one of the following groups--museum, crating company, or exhibit development company.  These are the ONLY mandatory questions in the entire survey.  If these two questions are not answered a participant is unable to progress to the next page.

The majority of the survey is multiple choice-/check the box-type questions asking how materials are utilized and disposed. The survey does NOT ask companies to submit sales/ income figures. It only asks for the number of crates built or ordered last year.
(Built = internal crating department; Ordered = crates built by external person or company)

There are two questions about expenses. One asks for monetary amounts for supplies--wood, bubble, Tyvek, etc.--and the other asks about waste/material disposal fees. There are three open-ended opinion questions.

Please contact me with any further questions or concerns. Thank you.
