RE: LED Lighting in Galleries

Title: LED Lighting in Galleries

Greetings:

I don’t have a direct answer for you, yet.  However, I want to alert you to an upcoming workshop on Museum Lighting that will be held as part of the American Institute for Conservation’s Annual Meeting in Richmond, VA. The workshop will be April 16 – 17, 2007.  Cost $200 for AIC members & students/$300 for non-members.  More information can be found on the AIC website ( www.aic.stanford.edu).

I was recently in a meeting with one of the workshop speakers and the issue of LEDs came up.  He told me that it is getting closer to being a viable option and that it will be discussed in the workshop.  Hope this helps a bit.

Subject: LED Lighting in Galleries

Hello,

Are any of you privy to successes or failures with LED lighting technology which is used to provide all lighting throughout galleries?  Are any of you in associations which have info/opinions on the subject?

Thank you for your assistance.
