Re: polyethylene sheeting
Title: Re: polyethylene sheeting
Amie, I am sorry to mislead you. Someone else orders this stuff and I assumed it was virgin since the registrar specified that years ago. Turns out that the polyethylene film that we use is not technically "virgin, food grade". I just spoke to the manufacturer:
Polar Plastics, Inc.
6959 N. 55th St.
Oakdale, MN 55128
The rep says that “”virgin refers to the quality of resins that goes into it and is indicated my a visibly clearer film. The stuff we buy is their part #C104, and is very clear, but not crystal. He mentioned that the milky films often have larger percentages of recycled material in them and is more prone to have lumps, pin holes, and will break down faster in use. The stuff we buy is a compromise between that and the highest quality “food grade”. BTW, he called ours a “construction grade”.
