In one of the trains of conversation on
this subject – someone stated they used Customs to fumigate their crates …
this left me with several questions as I was a bit alarmed at this concept … When these crates were released to Customs
for fumigation – were the exhibition goods inside the crates? Did the institution check to see what process
or chemicals were being used? … even if the artworks were removed –
some chemicals can leave residue or gases. This really worried me – and brought
many more questions … like did they have Customs remove or handle the
works? While possibly being slightly more
expensive – I think the piece-of-mind that results from having everything
professionally crated by a certified crate shop far outweighs other solutions. Ev Stone Director of Operations Mana Fine Arts Guarantee Wine Storage office: 800-330-9659 cell: 347-564-8288 fax: 201-604-2701 email: estone@manafinearts.com

all, I
was wondering if anyone out there has a concise set of specifications that are
required to meet European Union Standard for crates, specifically art shipping
crates? Thanks,
