RE: Inspirational exhibits

Hi Ben,

I would recommend the Seattle Art Museum. They have an amazing group of
people who work on mounts. We had a couple of exhibitions in Vancouver
"Raven Traveling" and "Down from the Shimmering Sky" which were all
Pacific Northwest Coast, First Nations objects and several of the
Preparation Department staff went on a study visit to Seattle. They
really helped us out. Seattle also has an amazingly diverse collection.

My contact is Jack Mackey, who coordinates mount making.

Subject: Inspirational exhibits

Hello.
I'm looking for some inspiration. To get our creative juices flowing
and to see what is happening around the country my department wants to
see (or learn
about) some amazing exhibits. I'm looking for suggestions. As the
chief mountmaker here I am especially looking for suggestions of
exhibits that have done an especially great/interesting job of
displaying/mounting the objects on display. What are
some exhibits/museums that you just thought were amazing? What are some
exhibits/museums that you haven't seen yourself but you keep on hearing
about.

I hope to be able to visit some of these exhibits so any currently on
view or coming in the near future would be great. However, if there are
any past exhibits that were particularly memorable let me know as well
because I might be able to find some pictures.

Thanks for your help.
Ben Peters
