Re: posting

To Whom It May Concern:

This may be of interest to you.  In the 70's I interviewed Alice Cook (98), who was Mother Hubbard in Babes in Toyland.  Close friend of Stan Laurel and close acquaintance of Charlie Chaplin.  She was also the daughter of the manager for the Barnum Circus and Bailey Circus. The two circus' fought over the same towns to give their shows. According to Alice her father said one day, "Ol' P.T., If I can get the two of you together you'll have the Greatest Show on Earth."  Alice also remembered, at the age of five, going to Paris during Buffalo Bill's birthday; riding in a stage coach with real indians shooting arrows into the coach.  My interviews of Alice took place just before she passed over.  The interviews were held to develop the images for one of the public art murals I was painting.

Sincerely, Joan de Bruin
