RE: museum glass (true-vu)

Hello All,

I have just recently seen works under glass covered by a thing static
type of plastic. Unfortunately I don't know who makes it and if it
really is any good.

It looks durable since is probably 4 times thicker than glass mask but I
am wondering it the static is film is ok. It is not something that I
would use on gouache or charcoal works but on prints or paintings.

PVB (Poly Vinal Butylrate)??????????? Could this be it.

Hi,

You can get this stuff called Glass-Skin at Talas. I had that same
problem
recently, and this material is great. It comes off with almost no
residue
left, and any further cleaning can just be done with alcohol and a soft
cloth. I always advise clients to remove the glass tape as soon as they
can, however, because I don't know if the coating on the glass would be
affected by the adhesive after longer time.

Glass skin is also great because it's 12" wide so it takes less time to
cover the area.

Best,
Denise Kupferschmidt

Since the
