RE: "Crate Tape" source needed

Title: "Crate Tape" source needed
Steve,

I have looked at many places to buy this tape and they are all pretty much the same. You have to order enough for them to make a profit, but it is always way too much tape. The adhesive will go bad long before the tape is used up. I bought tape (36 rolls of each) and decided it was better to have the tape and use it until it was no longer viable than to not have it. One thing I did was to scout round to other art handling institutions in the area, private and professional, and offer to sell them some of the tape. I had several takers. I put enough of an increase in price to help defray some of my loss. I didn't have any complaints about the price.

Subject: "Crate Tape" source needed

Dear List,

Does anybody have a source for pre-printed packing tape with the words "FULL” (or PACKED) and "EMPTY"?

The two catalog sources I’ve found that custom print tape require a large minimum order and an initial plate fee that will cost us almost $250 for our first 18 rolls. That's $500 for the 2 types and we really don't want a lifetime supply. My guess is that we would use less than a roll per year sealing crates.

Any sources or other suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Steve
