RE: [PRAM] Question on Press Releases for Development

Title: Question on Press Releases for Development
Your program sounds similar to the public arts animal programs- we had mules here in Bucks County, cows and horses in other cities. I would recommend a 'ride your own carousel animal' approach  and suggest that the press release should include a photo of someone who has already joined as a sponsor or at least a quote from a donor.

Subject: [PRAM] Question on Press Releases for Development

Hello all,

I recently received a request from the Sponsorship Manager in the Development Dept. at our museums to write up a press release on a newly created sponsorship/development program. The program, the Carousel Friends Program, invites museum members, donors, and the general public, to sponsor one of our animals on the museum?s carousel.

For those of you in the public relations role, do you find that it is common or acceptable to write about these types of programs? During my tenure at the museums, I have only written about galas and events of that nature.

Thank you,
