Re: [PRAM] Upcharges

Hi Debra,

We placed an upcharge on our last two exhibitions.
Our regular admission fee is $10. For our architecture exhibition "Hawaiian Modern: The Architecture of Vladimir Ossipoff" we charged $5 on top of that. For our exhibition "The Dragon's Gift: The Sacred Arts of Bhutan" we charged $10 on top of that. And both shows were a success as far as attendance went. Our attendance doubled for The Dragon's Gift.

We did the upcharge because both shows were originated by us, costing millions in research etc. For the summer we have two summer shows coming in and are going back to our regular $10 admission.

No, we did not survey visitors or members first.

Hi PRAM,

I'm interested in hearing how many of you have put into place an upcharge for special exhibits. If you have, what is your criteria for doing so? How often? Did you survey your visitors or members first? How has this been received by both?
