The Public Relations and Marketing Committee (PRAM) of AAM invites museum professionals with fewer than 5 years experience to apply for Fellowship to help defray costs of attending the 2010 annual meeting in Los Angeles, May 23-26.
One fellowship will be awarded, in the amount of $1,000.
The fellowship is for a newcomer to the museum field (fewer than 5 years), working primarily in the area of marketing, public relations or (non-scholarly) publications. A complimentary PRAM membership will be provided if the recipient is not currently a member. PRAM will assign an experienced member to act as a mentor to the recipient during the conference and respond to his or her critical marketing issue.
The winning recipient will write a brief summary of his or her experiences for the PRAM web site and newsletter, and will be required to work a shift at the PRAM information booth at the annual meeting Museum Expo.
To apply, please submit the following materials by Friday, January 15:
1. A letter (no more than 2 pages) discussing your current responsibilities, the value to you and your museum of your attending the annual meeting, and how critical the financial award would be to your ability to attend the conference. Include also a paragraph (100 - 150 words) on the most critical marketing or public relations issue you are currently facing.
2. Current resume
3. Letter of endorsement from your director or immediate supervisor.
