{Collins} 51J-2 vs 51J-4

Dave-Here are the main differences between the J-2 and J-4. This information
is taken from Jay Miller's Pocket Guide to Collins Amateur
Radio Equipment. The 51J-2 is essentially a J-1 with 2 mods. A front panel
input/ouput meter switch and 100 kc calibrator adjustment. Now,
the 51J-3 has a redesigned PTO and crystal fitering circuit. Military
designation is R-388. The 51J-4 added 3 selectable mechanical filters
and that is the only difference between a J-3 and J-4. Hope this clears it
up for you.
73 and Season's Greetings to all!
                                Rich WB3JLK
