{Collins} Re: Tube - too good?




Bob.... you might try testing the questionable tube on a  tube tester that
checks the tube for grid emission...... also known as "gas current".

In that condition, the grid becomes more positive and will drive the tube to
saturation and cause clipping and overloading.

A B&K 707 or 747, as well as others have  the capability of making that
test.

This adds to the argument to "trouble shoot" by substitution, using known
good tubes.

Just "for what it is worth".
