Bob,

You can also check the date codes on the other crystals, the 
electrolytic caps and the IF transformers.  Again, the 4 digit code is 
the year, and the WEEK of that year that the parts went thru Quality 
Control.  If most the date codes coincide, the rig was probably built 
within 6 month from that time...
