{Collins} Re: 516F-2 parts



First, I'm not sure that C1 really needs to be there.  Oh it was put there 
for a reason and that is to reduce the 120 Hz ripple and effectively 
changing the apparent inductance of L1.  Thus, improved regulation between 
no load and full load conditions.  Per the Collins manual, typically C1 is 
not in the circuit when the mains frequency is >60 Hz. (When ever that might 
be.)

I see that Surplus Sales of Nebraska has several types listed.  Otherwise as 
a compromise, use 2  of the 0.1mfd @ 500V paper types in series.  I don't 
see it to be a real critical value component.
