THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP... BUT I AGREE, AND SO THE COLLINS OWNERS MANUEL THAT SHOWS THE AMP CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE RELAY IN THE 380.

Not correct.  Collins showed the connections between the 30L1 and KWM380 as
a direct connection.  I have used my same equipment that way since I
purchased the '380 new.  No problems.
