They are glued on with some kind of brown contact glue....if it is the
original glue it is probably Ply-o-bond. I haven't seen that glue in a
loooong time.
I use Weldwood now....works the same and is just as messy.

If you have an original weighted Collins knob the skirts are metal and have
3 small screws holding them on....no glue.
