All that is required to install the crystal is to cut a jumper and then solder the new crystal in place.

There is a Collins Service Bulletin on this and it can be downloaded from the CCA website:

 I have understood that.  According
top the schematic, it would be possible to install, a third BFO crystal. 
The issue will be whether the current mode switch can be used to switch that
crystal in when the switch is in the CW position.    I think it
can be done

Along with the filter you also need the optional BFO crystal,
455.8 kHz.  Otherwise, the received tone is very high and most people find
the tone frequency very uncomfortable.
