Most will tell you it will make no difference at all but I have had NOS
4CX1500B's pop the high voltage if applied after just putting it in the amp
(with 3 min warm up of coarse).  I'd run it with filaments on and high
voltage off for 30 mins or more before applying high voltage.  Sure won't
hurt to do that.
