Re: {Collins} Collins KWM-2 MIC GAIN settings.



My current RE M-2A mike gain always sets between 9-10 o'clock with my standard non-amplified D-104 or the EV 664, the same with the Turner SR90D which is similar to the Collins MM-1, and lastly also using my vintage Turner 254C. I have had 5 KWM-2s or 2As and all have set the gain at approx. the same position. When rebuilding them if the gain is higher than that to achieve normal output, I have always found some kind of problem in the audio chain. For What it's worth!!
