The problem with the lacquer sticks is it in some cases it will react
with the paint on the knobs if you get it on the paint outside of the
grove.  I have use antique white latex house paint and I get it into the
grove and run my finger over the slit area to get up the excess and
clean up what needs to be cleaned with a damp paper tower.

My opinion, but this leaves a deeper groove than desirable. The Lacquer sticks work the best and are tried and true. They leave an almost flat filled surface.

The pen tip is so small, that it fit into the groove in the knob. It’s necessary to push the tip down to get the paint to flow a little bit to the tip. It was very easy to control. There was no slop over on to the flat surface of the knob.

The tip measures 0.0175 inches in diameter. It’s really small!

Thanks for the link. How did you apply-wipe off to avoid white over smears?

I have discovered the holy grail of markers! I have looked high and low to find the proper paint and applicator to refresh the white lines on knobs.

I found it at Walmart and it is made by Sharpie. It the Extra Fine, White and it is an oil based paint! I just used one to add lines to non-Collins radio knobs and it is just what I was looking for.

Here is the link to the product: http://www.sharpie.com/productvariation?pid=SHOilBasedPaint&dwvar_SHOilBasedPaint_color=White&dwvar_SHOilBasedPaint_size=Extra%20Fine <http://www.sharpie.com/productvariation?pid=SHOilBasedPaint&dwvar_SHOilBasedPaint_color=White&dwvar_SHOilBasedPaint_size=Extra%20Fine> <http://www.sharpie.com/productvariation?pid=SHOilBasedPaint&dwvar_SHOilBasedPaint_color=White&dwvar_SHOilBasedPaint_size=Extra%20Fine <http://www.sharpie.com/productvariation?pid=SHOilBasedPaint&dwvar_SHOilBasedPaint_color=White&dwvar_SHOilBasedPaint_size=Extra%20Fine>>

No more looking for model paint and dinkey little brushes.
